Layouts & backgrounds

Make every recording look like you.

Bring your screen and camera together in a layout that suits the lesson. Change the background, spacing, corners and shadows after recording, without filming the whole thing again.

Record, edit and share in one place.

A simple creative flow

Give your recording its own look

Keep the content you recorded. Change how it comes together.

  1. Record screen and camera

Capture both sources and open the processed recording in the editor to arrange them together.

  2. Pick a layout

Choose a camera bubble, side-by-side view or another layout suited to your landscape, square or portrait video.

  3. Make it your own

Choose a background and refine spacing, corners, borders and shadows while you preview the composition.

  4. Save your preferred look

Save a custom template to apply to another recording in the same browser, then share your finished video.

01 Find the right balance

Give your screen and camera room to work.

Put your camera beside the screen, in a bubble or in a portrait panel. Choose a layout for your output orientation, then check that the demonstration stays readable and your audience can still see the person explaining it.

02 Set the mood

A background that belongs with your lesson.

Pick a background from the library, or choose a color or gradient. Refine the space around your panels, soften the corners and adjust shadows and borders. These changes happen after recording, so you can try a different look without another take.

03 Keep your style handy

Save the look for another recording.

Create a custom template with your layout, background and panel styling. Templates are saved in the browser where you create them, ready to apply to another recording there. You can adjust each video further after applying a template.

04 Bring yourself forward

Step into full camera for the important part.

Add a timed Full camera section for an introduction, a key point or a closing thought. Adjust its length on the timeline and choose a cut or animated transition. Your recording returns to its screen-and-camera layout afterward.

Can I change the layout after recording?

Yes. Once a screen-and-camera recording has processed, open it in the editor and choose a layout. You can change the composition without recording the lesson again.

Do layouts work with screen-only or camera-only recordings?

The combined layouts arrange separate screen and camera footage. Recordings with only one video stream do not offer the same dual-stream layout and panel-style options.

Are recording templates available on every device?

Custom recording templates are saved in the browser where you create them. Return to that browser to reuse your saved layouts and styles.

Can I make a portrait screen recording?

Yes. For a recording with screen and camera footage, choose portrait output and an available layout that keeps the demonstration and presenter useful in a vertical frame.

Can my camera fill the screen for part of the lesson?

Yes. Add a Full camera section, set its timing on the timeline, and choose how it transitions. The video returns to your selected screen-and-camera layout after that section.
